Planning with learning outcomes
Learning outcomes describe what children should know and be able to do, and they are the unit the Primary Language Curriculum, the Primary Mathematics Curriculum and the new curriculum specifications are all written in. Planning with them means every fortnightly plan, monthly plan and Cuntas Míosúil is expressed in the same language: which outcomes were in focus, and what the class did to work on them.
Sequencing them
Outcomes are not a checklist to tick once each. Most recur across a term as skills deepen: an oral language outcome might be in focus across six different themes. Good sequencing spreads a subject's strands across the year, revisits outcomes deliberately, and keeps sight of which ones haven't been touched as the term wears on.
Tracking coverage honestly
The question a principal or inspector eventually asks is simple: across the month or term, what was covered? Answering it from memory is guesswork. Answering it from a system that logged each taught lesson against its outcomes is a glance: outcomes recorded, topics taught, and what's still outstanding by subject.
Less admin, same teaching

How many outcomes should one lesson cover?
Usually a small number in genuine focus. Ticking ten outcomes per lesson makes the record meaningless; two or three worked on properly is honest.

Yes. A subject-by-subject view shows outcomes and topics still outstanding across the term, and the month's record flags anything on your timetable that wasn't logged.
